Week 2 - Chords for G Major - 4 strings
Now we're going to introduce 4 fairly easy chords for playing along with songs in the key of G Major. These chords are what we call the 1-4-5 Chords. This name ("1-4-5") refers to the chords based on the 1, 4, and 5 notes of the G Major Scale. The 1 note is G. The 4 note is C. And the 5 note is D. We're also going to introduce the 6 minor chord (Em). Knowing these 4 chords (G - C - D - Em) will give you what you need to play along with hundreds of songs. We will begin by playing these chords on just the "top" 4 strings, that is, the thinner ones (not including the two bass strings.)
