What is a PlayAlong Group?

PlayAlong Groups give people the opportunity to get together and play their instruments with a familiar song. The song is broadcast on a large format tv screen and features either our in-house band, a playable piece of sheet music, or a capture of a popular video.

In each case we make sure the chords are clearly indicated as the song moves along. This makes it possible for the participants to join in with the recorded music...to "play along"!

Each piece of music is preceded by a short explanation of how the chords are used and an appropriate strum pattern.

Members who intend to participate in group sessions are expected to have their own instrument. In some cases we can offer instruments to use and are able to offer a limited number of coupons from Long and McQuade which can be applied to the rental or purchase cost of an instrument. Sponsored ukulele groups may include a number of ukuleles provided by the sponsor.

A membership is required for participaton in the online PlayAlong Sessions. Members will be informed of session times by email, and will be sent the necessary login information before the event.

Each PlayAlong Session includes instruction, at the same time as giving the participants the opportunity to play a popular song along with a group of other eager musicians.

And remember, when you sign up for the PlayAlong Sessions, you are automatically eligible to participate in all instructional classes as well as any of our bands, ensembles or PlayAlong groups.

Please sign up for the class or activity you are interested in registering for. Registered members are eligible for all other currently available services.

Membership in the Good Vibrations Music Club is open to all who are interested. Members will be informed of session times by email, and will be sent the necessary login information before the event.

We are located in the Waterloo Region of Ontario, just outside of Kitchener-Waterloo (in the village of Conestogo). Members who are able to attend the live sessions are welcome to do so.
